ROC Race 2016

Upper Mount Gravatt students continued their fascination with mud, water, and obstacles whilst participating in the 4th edition of the ROC Race.

This year saw the introduction of several new obstacles that were designed to be a challenge and to test the students use of their You Can Do It! Keys.

The mud crawl and slide again continued to be the student’s favourite obstacles but ROC Hill and the finish wall climb proved to be the most challenging, pushing students to their limits in their quest to gain a lime green headband.

Thank you to the ROC Race team (Mrs Fiona Kessell, Miss Kerryn Abbott, Mr Carl Toma and Mr Stephen Good) for all their hard work in organising this year’s event.

We would also like to extend our thanks to to our wonderful volunteers from Griffith University and Mt Gravatt High School, Woodhill Rural Fire Brigade for volunteering their time and efforts to ensure we had water for the mud and slide, Sports Medicine Australia in providing first aid coverage and to our parent community who continue to support this event by volunteering their time and efforts to help build and set up obstacles, supervision of obstacles, and generally help out on the day we greatly appreciate all of your efforts to ensure that our students had an awesome experience.

Students of UMG you certainly stood tall, stood strong and stood proud at the 2016 ROC Race!
